Our Mission
1) Motivate the younger generation of Mardin to better understand their rich cultural and historical heritage through photography while creating a long lasting motivation for the future
2) Connect high school students from two worlds through this project to create a bridge of understanding between the students
3) Donate all proceeds of an auction of the pictures taken by the students to the unprivileged elementary education in a rural community in the region to teach the students about the gift of giving
Project Scope
Eleven Mardin high school students had the opportunity to go to the historical sites of Hasankeyf, which will soon be flooded because of a new dam being built in the area, Midyat, and Mardin to shoot photos. The photos that the children shot were judged by a well known architect, movie producer, and lawyer who are all originally from Mardin and in the end, the top three photos were rewarded.
